Week 17: Reset: How This Crisis Can Restore Our Values and Renew America by Kurt Anderson

This little book was the perfect size to get a jump on next week's reading.

Written by Kurt Anderson, columnist for the New York Times and Time Magazine, this book discusses the history of America's economic booms and recessions, and the trends we can expect in the years to come.

If you ever wondered how people dug themselves out of the Great Depression and got going again, believe it or not, we have the answer within our own history books. The country has gone through cycles and phases since its foundings, and together we're hitting rock bottom before the inevitable climb, once again, out of the sinkhole we've all created.

But there is hope! Many of the nation's most notable advances in technology and enterprise have been made during the worst recessions in history. People start thinking outside the box. Exciting things happen because people are less worried about risks and more excited to create something new. This very short book provided proof that a lot of good can and will come out of this frightening economical climate.

Might not be a bad idea to pick this one up if you're feeling a little bit anxious about our country's future.
